Power is on!

Good morning, the area is temporarily without power. We do have some emergency lights on within the school. We are in communication with the city regarding a timeline for the power to be back on. We are still planning to have school today. Updates to come...

We will have our Fall Carnival on Friday, October 31, 2025. We want to invite parents/guardians to attend with their child. Due to space constraints, each student can have a maximum of TWO guests.

Students will participate in fall-themed learning activity rotations. One rotation will be concessions. Students can purchase concessions only during this rotation. Parents are welcome to bring money with them if they are attending. However, if parents are not attending, please send concession money with your student to school that day.

The Fall Carnival schedule is listed below. Doors will open promptly 10 minutes before each grade level's scheduled time.

Kindergarten - 8:30-9:50
First Grade - 10:20-11:40
Second Grade - 12:10-1:30


**Friday's dress-up theme is “No Tricks, Just Treats - Be Drug Free.” Students can wear a school-appropriate costume. Scary or gory costumes will not be allowed.

Students can wear pink tops tomorrow in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness! Tomorrow will also be a free jeans day!

Good evening, Wednesday, October 22nd is Unity Day. Unity Day is a day intended to bring awareness to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. All students are encouraged to wear orange tops on this day. Students wearing orange can also wear jeans.

Carter Johnson is a kindergarten student at GVE who has just recently found out that he is cancer-free! We want all staff and students to wear gold/yellow shirts or red uniform tops tomorrow, October 2nd, to help celebrate Carter! Tomorrow will also be a free jeans day.

Correction! Jeans will be free on October 3rd.

Lincoln Parish Schools End of Year Update: Due to the lack of school closures this year, all required instructional minutes will have been met earlier than expected. Because of this, the decision has been made to move the students’ last day to Tuesday, May 20. All offices will be closed Friday, May 23 and Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day. This change is contingent on no closures between now and May 20.

REMINDER: Summer Send-Off is tonight from 4:30-6:00. We look forward to seeing you there!
